History and Vision
The Sacramento Church of God (Seventh Day) is a
community united by our faith in Jesus Christ. We exist to worship
the Lord, share the good news of salvation, provide spiritual
education and train our members to serve God.
Our congregation has existed in the Sacramento area over fifty years. We assembled at the Arden Church Center from 1972 to 2014.
We currently assemble in our own facilities located at 6641 Grant Ave, Carmichael CA
We are a congregation of the
General Conference of the Church of God
(Seventh Day) with national offices in Denver, Colorado. The General
Conference includes more than 200 congregations within the United
States and Canada. In addition, we have affiliate conferences
throughout the world.
The Sacramento Church of
God (Seventh Day) Vision
These ten statements are the vision
which has been a guide for the Sacramento Church of God (Seventh
Day) from the time when a few families began to worship, study, and
fellowship together in homes.
The Sacramento church began as a teaching ministry fellowship,
advocating the Bible and committed to biblical truth and its
application in the life of the believer in the LORD Jesus Christ. In
addition, we have a strong Sabbath heritage from the creation of the
seventh-day Sabbath, made Holy by God in the beginning, and a love
for the commandments of God.
In a culture that is biblically illiterate and emotionally and
physically tired, these aspects of our history and personality –
mixed with a clear Christ-focus, a commitment to gospel truth, and a
passion for Holy Spirit fullness – provide unique opportunities for
us to make a difference in our twenty-first century community.
The challenge of our time
-
To reach the “called out” and be the Christ-centered,
grace-oriented, Sabbath-observing church for which many are
searching.
-
To be committed to both the Great Commandment (to love God with
all our hearts) and the Great Commission (to take the whole gospel
to the whole world). A church committed to both these great
scriptures will be a great church in the Lord.
-
To point a restless world to God’s gift of rest in the Sabbath and
(1) to their spiritual rest in Christ in this life, and (2) to the
eternal rest in the Kingdom of God with a new heaven and a new
earth, both to which the Sabbath points.
-
To build a growing and vibrant church that is sanctified and
cleansed by Jesus Christ. – Ephesians 5:26,27; 1 Corinthians 6:11

What We Believe:
1. We Believe in God the Father; In Jesus Christ, the only begotten
Son of God; and in the Holy Spirit.
2. We Believe that the Bible, God's inspired Word, is an adequate
and inerrant rule for faith and conduct. No other writing is
recognized either to interpret or to supplement Holy Scripture.
3. We Believe in the existence of Jesus Christ, the Son, with God
the Father before creation, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His
death in our place, fulfilling the "sign of His messiah-ship" three
days and three nights in the grave, His resurrection from the grave,
His ascension and intercession at God's right hand, and His future
return to this Earth.
4. We Believe that salvation is a gift of God's grace, and comes to
man by faith alone in Jesus. Saving faith, however, is more than
mental assent; it involves active trust and repentance from sin.
5. We Believe that Christians will give evidence of saving faith by
a life-style of conformity to God's Word. This includes baptism by
immersion and recognizing the seventh day of the week
(Saturday/Sabbath) as established and made Holy by God at Creation,
as our day of rest and worship.
6. We Believe the Church of God consists of all true Christian
believers. As a congregation of God's people, we confess no other
head than Jesus, and we look to no other founder for the directing
of the church.
7. We Believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ and the
resurrection of the righteous, with Jesus establishing His reign
over this earth for 1000 years, referred to as the millennial reign.
8. We Believe in the final resurrection of the rest of the dead, in
which the wicked will be judged and suffer annihilation in the lake
of fire, and the righteous will be rewarded with life eternal in the
Kingdom of God which will include a new heaven and a new earth.
We invite anyone to come and
experience for themselves by joining in with our fellowship and
worship each Sabbath (Saturday). For a schedule of services click on
